A quick reminder that there will not be a CPSC Parents meeting tonight, June 24, 2009 as previously scheduled. The Board and Coach John will be making the presentation to the Site Selection Committee in our bid to host the 2010 NWI Divisional meet.
Our next Parent’s Meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, July 8, 2009. If you have anything to discuss prior to this meeting please feel free to contact any of the board members directly.
Regards,
CPSC Board
There are a few reminders for the invitional at Carmel this weekend…..
THIS IS A PRELIM / FINAL MEET!! All swimmers qualifying for final are required to swim in said finals. Swimmers, it is your resposibility to check the results that are posted to see if you qualify. NO swimmer will be allowed to scratch from finals.
From the Meet Director….
· Please remind your 12-under swimmers of the Indiana Swimming suit restrictions as outlined in our entry letter. We will enforce this rule as required by our LSC sanction. The Kast-a-Way swim shop will be open in our lobby during the meet.
· We are planning to use chase starts on Saturday and Sunday morning, and will probably use fly-over starts in other preliminary sessions once we finalize our session timelines. Please let us know in advance if you have any swimmers not certified for shallow depth starts, as that could affect our plans.
· We are planning hospitality meals each day for you and your staff, including Arni’s pizza and salad (our meet sponsor) and Chipotle burritos on Sunday. Plus, we’re setting up an outdoor grill as well as inside concessions for your attending parents. Several local eateries are ‘friendly’ to our program if you are looking to arrange meals for your athletes. You will find a decent variety of food within minutes of the pool to the north, west and south.
· TRAFFIC NOTE: Keystone Avenue will be open to north – south traffic during the meet. However, 136th Street (Smokey Row Road) will be closed and provide no pool access. You will still be able to park buses in the football stadium lot, but they will need to access the pool property via 131st/Main Street from the west rather than the north trail. Please access the pool from 131st/Main Street via 4th and 5th Avenues. See Map:

We are having a FUNdraiser Night Out at the Railcats Game vs Shaumburg Flyers on Friday, July 17 at 7pm. We have a goal of selling 300 tickets but certainly would like to sell more. If we meet our goal (sell 300 tickets) we will have certain prizes offered to us. One prize being the swimmer that sells the most tickets, gets to throughout the first pitch. There will be fireworks after the game so this will be a fun, enjoyable evening for all. See Coach Becca for information…..there is a flyer in everyone’s mailbox.

The newly posted meet sign up and volunteer forms have been posted on the FORMS page above. They are due back on Friday, April 24 (contrary to the email that went out that said May 24). Please make sure to turn it in on time so as to not miss any meets you wish to have your swimmer in.
Attention All Swim Families:
Sign-ups begin this week and all returning swimmers/families will need to register using the on-line registration system. The link can be found on the club website at www.crownpointswimclub.org.There will be no need for returning families to come to the high school to register. Simply sign up on-line over the next few days and bring your payment (and the applicable paperwork listed below) to the pool on the first day of practice, Tuesday or Wednesday, April 14-15, 2009. Please note that the on-line system will be unavailable on Wednesday, April 1, 2009 due to a scheduled upgrade procedure
All fees that are past due must be paid before your child is allowed to start the new season. Adjustments have been made to each individual on-line account to reflect any outstandings including carried forward escrow balances through the end on last season .These amounts however, will not be combined with your registration expenses for the new season. Therefore please ensure that you review your on line account prior to sign ups and be prepared to satisfy any previous seasons outstandings in full separately. If you have any questions please contact Mike Artim directly via email at mpartim@ameritech.net.
As previously stated ALL families are required to register on-line. However, families will still need to download from the website and hand in the following forms - USA Seasonal Athlete Registration (only for new swimmers), Parent Participation Policy/Check, Meet Entry Escrow Policy, Meet Sign up and Meet Volunteer Sign up forms. These forms, the Parent Participation check ($100) and any registration payments can be handed in on the first day of practice. Families that have fulfilled their Winter Parent Participation requirements and have no outstanding fees will be able to pick up their winter season Participation check at this time. Any participation checks from the winter season not collected will be destroyed. If you do not have the ability to use the on-line facility please contact one of the board members or coaching staff and we will happily assist you with the process.
You will see that the board was able to hold the registration fees at the same level as last year. We will be having at least one fundraiser this summer. The first one will be a Fannie May Candy bar sale. You have the choice of either buying $104 worth of candy bars which you can sell to recoup your investment or elect to pay a buy out fee of $52 which fulfills your obligation. Both options will be payable in full at registration. If you did not choose the buyout, your candy bars will be ordered in a timely manner. The delivery time is about 3 weeks from the time the order is placed. ANY late sign-ups will only be given the buy out option since the club orders only what we need. The second fundraiser will be determined at a later date.
Unfortunately we will not be able to pro-rate any of the summer fees and any family that chooses to sign-up late will be expected to pay for the full season.
Thanks you all for your support and understanding in getting this process completed.
Respectively,
The CPSC Board
